Director, Product Design

Location: US remote or EU remote

As a Director, Product Design, you will support the product team to drive the product user experience strategy to create world-class products with superior quality user experience towards end users. You will create consistent design system across products that emphasizes brand recall as well as creates user delight and loyalty through user experience. This is a hands-on UI/UX role that interacts with our customers, gather insights from the market trends and drives end user centered design approach. You will use user interface, user research, and interaction design skills to shape the direction of our product experiences while leading and coaching a team of full stack UI/UX designers across product pods globally.

You are responsible for leading a team towards achieving strategic deliverables, designing & maintaining our UI/UX framework and to contribute through UI/UX to our Velsera roadmap across products. You and your team deliver UI/UX services in specific steps of the product management process. As a Director of Product Design you contribute, coach & support your team to deliver smart & strong UI/UX innovation with engineering & product management teams to make sure everything flows together in successful product releases that align with the business goals of the organization, this to deliver value to customers and to our company in a recurring fashion.

What will you do?

● You lead the team that defined comprehensive UI/UX philosophy of our overall product suite

● You are end-responsible for the UI/UX solutions we deliver towards our end-users

● You interact with product users and participate in market surveys to understand the user challenges and market needs.

● You come up with vision & action plans to build a world-class design team

● You relay valuable information on product strategy & corporate meetings to the product design team

● You point out operational and design issues and make sure we resolve them as soon as possible, this on a product, team & process level

● You lead the team from planning to the execution stage

● You collaborate efficiently with the People Ops Business Partner

● You incorporate efficient management techniques to track problems and take appropriate action within your design team

● You report on product design KPI’s, you track these KPI’s to guarantee healthy operations, and you make sure you come up with actions if needed to improve your strategic measures

● You participate in quarterly product planning

What do you bring to the table?

● >10 years of combined experience working in user experience and design, product management, and/or software design, ideally some duration in precision medicine and in agile environment.

● >2-3 years of leadership experience coaching, recruiting, hiring, and growing a team

● You have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to diverse audiences

● You have proficiency in design tools such as (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD) and user experience frameworks

● You have experience working with global teams

● You understand the complex space we are operating in

● You can handle end-responsibility on a team & output level
