Summary of Job Duties:
Position will be responsible for the coordination of research subject activities for clinical trials supported by the Translational Research Institute (TRI) Clinical Trial Innovation Unit (CTIU). This position will work independently to manage clinical trial activities under the guidance of a Clinical Research Nurse Manager, the Director of Clinical Trials, and the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
  • Current Arkansas RN license, Basic Life Support certification

Experience, length in years and kind:

Level I:  3 years nursing and/or clinical research experience;

Level II:  ≥ 3 years general research experience with demonstrated proficiency in study planning/ development, study coordination/ management, and data collection

Level III:  ≥ 5 years clinical research experience with demonstrated proficiency in study planning/ development, study coordination/ management, and data collection

Licenses, certificates, or registration:

Level I: CRS certification within 2 years of hire

Level II: CRS certification within 2 years of hire

Level III: CCRP, CCRC or equivalent professional certification required at hire; CRS within 2 years of hire

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Additional Information:

  • This position will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide study related procedures to research participants in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
  • Position will represent TRI and investigator interests with design and development of projects for medical record templates, databases, SOP validation, treatment plan validation, and other projects as assigned.
  • Position must be able to organize complex projects, provide attention to detail, and communicate effectively. This position practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and complies with UAMS policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • Position maintains a working knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and the code of conduct for human research.
  • The employee will work directly with pharmaceutical company sponsors, institutional investigators, and research staff.
  • Conducts complex work important to the organization.
  • Contributes to measurable team and/or organization objectives.  
  • Position may be required to perform occasional weekend and after-hours work depending on study requirements.
