JOB SUMMARY: The GIS Specialist will support the GIS needs for a variety of large and small projects including utility, transportation, telecommunications, and energy infrastructure projects, among others. They will work largely with online content.

Updates and maintains ArcGIS online maps
Manages data updates while practicing good recordkeeping principals
Develops tools to improve and automate processes
Listens to the needs of project staff and incorporates feedback
Troubleshoots problems, researches solutions, and always seeks to make improvements
Clearly communicates GIS concepts and issues to project staff with minimal GIS knowledge
Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental’ s culture of safety and employee ownership
Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures
Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in GIS, cultural resources, biology, natural resource management, environmental studies, geology, or similar field
Strong preference for familiarity with cultural resources
2+ years of GIS experience
Strong familiarity (i.e. considerable experience troubleshooting and resolving problems) with the following:
Ability to independently troubleshoot problems and research solutions
Ability to follow instruction and make adjustments when provided feedback
Effective communication skills (e.g. writing, email, and telephone, etc.)
Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience effectively managing files for complex projects without enterprise-level tools
Experience managing offline Field Maps for large projects
Familiarity with typical utility operations, and maintenance or construction activities
Familiarity with Survey 123 Connect (preferred) or ArcGIS Survey 123 Web Designer
Familiarity with any of the following programming languages:
Arcade
Python
HTML
Javascript
SQL
Familiarity with dashboards
Previous experience in NEPA, FERC, NHPA, ESA, and/or other environmental programs
