Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are essential in this role. You will be responsible for processing Millard Health files including data entry and verification, file storage and file maintenance. Other duties include processing requests for information including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy requests. Reliability and time management skills are integral to success in this position.
Your Health Information Clerk responsibilities:
- Processing Millard Health files including scanning, reviewing information for quality & accuracy, and updating system digital file.
- Processing of requests for information (from clients, case managers, lawyers, insurance companies, etc.) including photocopying of files.
- General maintenance of case record information & files including purge activities based on digital conversion and retention periods.
- Manage shared desk of digital document & system case record removal requests.
- Ongoing distribution, completion and follow-up of data quality exceptions to ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor standards for completion of Millard Health files and provision of guidance/education to support source data collection/entry.
- General administrative support duties as required.
Your experience and skills:
- High School diploma supplemented with courses in medical terminology is preferred.
- Related office experience in a similar environment.
- Excellent keyboarding and computer skills with experience in MS Word, Excel and Lotus Notes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary: The salary for this position is $44,312.86
This position is temporary for a period of up to six months with the possibility of extension or permanency. Final candidates for this position are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment. Successful candidates must reside in Alberta and be able to work in person in Edmonton at the Millard Health Office.
