Job description

Researcher Product Safetyto Karlstad Research Center 

 

We are now looking for an analytical Researcher Product Safety to join our Packaging Materials division’s Innovation, Research and Development team. This role is based in Karlstad and reports to Manager Product Safety and Purity.   

 

This is a fixed-term substitution from early November 2024 until 31st of October 2025.

In this key role you will be part of our Product safety team and contributing to the product safety support to our R&D -projects and production units. Your main responsibilities include coordination of compliance assessment and purity testing for our R&D-projects, interpreting food contact legislation, evaluating product safety information from suppliers of raw materials, assessing test results, and communicating with stakeholders. Tasks involve supporting the development of new material as well as supporting the continuous production at the production units.  

You will cooperate closely within the Stora Enso Packaging Material global product safety network where there are representatives from divisional team, each production unit and research centers within the division. 

The position offers a good opportunity to further develop your skills and network while working with key stakeholders within the area of product safety and purity. 

Majority of the team is located at our Research Centre in Karlstad, Sweden but we are working from a hybrid model, meaning that you can work remotely from any other location in Sweden or Finland. 

About you 

We are looking for a person who have experience with food contact legislation and product stewardship/regulatory compliance management role. Your proficiency is based on a master’s degree in relevant science (e.g. chemistry) or another relevant area. Experience in project work, paper and board industry, toxicology or chemical assessments is an asset. 

The position requires good interpersonal and cultural skills and the ability to structure your tasks. You are a good communicator used to customer contacts and you have excellent skills in English. You have the ability to act independently and with good own initiative and accuracy. Very good analytical ability and ability to collaborate in project work with colleagues within and outside Stora Enso's research organization is needed.
