Parexel has an opportunity for an Associate Director/Director of International Tax to join our global team. This position reports to the VP of Tax, and is the lead functional and technical expert for all international tax matters within its geographical remit as well as US international tax matters with respect to worldwide operations.  This role provides expert level guidance to Stakeholders on US international tax law as well as foreign tax laws that impact the Company's operations.  This person works closely with Finance and other business leaders to understand the tax ramifications of potential actions and advises as to optimal tax positions/strategies that can be feasibly implemented.   In addition to tax planning and quantitative support, this position is responsible for management of foreign tax compliance, and international aspects of US tax compliance and reporting.

Tax Planning:

1. Develop, perform feasibility for, and implement International Tax Planning strategies within region, including coordination and management of international tax strategies with external advisers, overseeing strategy implementation with internal stakeholders, and analyzing tax impacts from local and US tax perspective

2. Develop tax planning models to analyze tax and accounting impacts for potential strategies.

3. Work with International Tax Team to develop and defend quarterly legal entity PBT forecasts in conjunction with FP&A overall forecast.

4. Provide expert analysis on M&A tax issues in the international context including due diligence, structuring, and post-acquisition integration

5. Provide in depth Tax knowledge and management for high scope local tax issues such as UK RDEC, equity comp, BEPS, etc

6. Keep abreast of changes in tax statutes and regulations; coordinate research and evaluations with outside advisors and determine the impact on the company’s operations.

Tax Compliance:

1. Provide expert knowledge to effectively manage International tax audits/ queries in countries within region of responsibility

2. Coordinate with international controllership to manage local tax compliance in region and monitor country specific tax issues, and approve tax compliance for significant scope entities

3. US informational reporting of foreign operations and transactions including forms 5471/8858 and 1042/W8BEN

4. Coordinate within International tax team on transfer pricing matters impacting region of responsibility.

5. Advise on and provide computations of US international tax concepts (BEAT, GILTI, Subpart F, §956, §163(j), FTC, 987/988, E&P etc.) for tax reporting and compliance purposes.

Tax Reporting:

1. Provide input on international portions of quarterly and annual tax provision process including US international issues and return-to-provision analysis of tax returns for in-scope entities under ASC740.

Business Partnering:

1. Ad hoc query response including customer contract review from a tax perspective (tax clauses)

2. Advise stakeholders relating to intercompany movements of cash and dividends within capital structure, including working closely with treasury and foreign controllership team

Leading and Managing People:

1. Management and development of employees located in different geographic regions

Qualifications:

Additional details:

Deep and proven knowledge of US and international tax law, issues, and rules commensurate with 10+ years of proven and progressive transfer pricing/International tax experience with multinational organizations.  A mix of public accounting and corporate experience preferred. Working experience in the area of international tax, transfer pricing and/or R&D credit experience is required.  Excellent verbal & written communication skills as well as presentation skills are paramount. Highly proficient with excel and mathematical modeling, as well as microeconomic concepts.  Ability to perform financial / economic analyses, build financial valuation models and clearly explain and document complex positions. High degree of computer proficiency demonstrated through the mastery of multiple software packages, including financial tools such as Essbase, and the ability to develop logical spreadsheets.

Education:

BA/BS in Accounting/Business/Economics/Finance and CPA and/or MS Taxation required.
