Responsibilities:

    Monitoring Personnel:

      • Maintain undivided attention on all personnel under observation, ensuring no distractions interfere with safety oversight.
      • Provide consistent warnings to personnel approaching energized parts or other hazards and repeat as necessary to ensure constant awareness.

      Team Coordination and Oversight:

        • Ensure sufficient checkers are deployed where the work scope is extensive and requires additional oversight.
        • Approve personnel movement between locations and ensure designated routes are followed.

        Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

          • Ensure that all checkers (CPCs) are easily identifiable via unique PPE, including hard hats, safety vests, or other clearly marked gear.

          Worksite Coordination and Communication:

            • Conduct tailboards and work status reviews when work is being conducted near energized equipment.
            • Maintain constant communication with onsite personnel to identify hazards, verify understanding, and approve movement around hazardous zones.

            Safety Verification:

              • Ensure that all personnel maintain safe work distances from energized equipment and verify the condition of grounding equipment.
              • Confirm that barriers, warning blocks, and insulating equipment are in place and in proper condition.

              Workplace Safety Protocols:

                • Review and ensure proper application of grounding procedures and use of insulating barriers in line with the SCE Substation Grounding Manual.
                • Approve and verify any movement or changes to work locations, confirming hazards and conditions with personnel before proceeding.

                Hazard Identification and Communication:

                  • Verbally communicate identified electrical hazards and confirm that personnel understand the risks before proceeding with any tasks.
                  • Ensure that all personnel are aware of hazards and that grounding equipment and barriers are properly in place before work resumes.

                  Monitoring Equipment and Vehicles:

                    • Oversee and direct the safe use of vehicles, man lifts, cranes, and other equipment within the work area.

                    Workplace Safety Interventions:
