Job Summary:
The Director of Claims Liability (NLA) is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees in support of organizational and departmental training initiatives. This position collaborates with affiliate companies to provide necessary training and development for all team members. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

Conducts needs assessments/instructional analysis to ensure conformity with best practices objectives and develops training plans as needed.
Develops training and development programs and objectives.
Administers spending against the Training budget.
Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of sources.
Trains and coach’s managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
Looks at trends and works with Managers and Affiliate Presidents/Sr Management to confirm training objectives and outcomes, operational procedures, and system/program constraints.
Plans, organizes, facilitates and works with Management for employee development and training events.
Develops and maintains organizational communications such as email and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
Modifies training programs as needed.
Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Collaborates with Team Managers, which includes attending Team Manager meetings with being part of the agenda.
Responsible for on-going collaboration and measurement of results.
Works effectively with other members of management, affiliates, internal and external staff.
Authors and organizes training systems procedural manuals and supporting documentation for training programs and systems in accordance with organizational/departmental requirements.
Remains current on developments in training and instructional methodologies, including technology enhancements, and attends periodic seminars, forums, and meetings to ensure currency of education.
Analyzing results of all internal audits and working with appropriate team members for further resolution to include but not limited to additional training, and further feedback regarding the audit results.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
Education and Experience:
Five years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
Three to Five years prior supervisory experience
Familiarity with state worker’s compensation laws and regulations
Strong communication and prior training experience
Communication Skills:
Effective with making complex technical information and recommendations understandable and clear to audiences with varied levels of technical knowledge
Listens effectively
Clearly expresses ideas, recommendations, etc. in writing
Customer Service:
Responds timely and succinctly with all communication
Builds credibility with internal and external customers
Creates customer satisfaction by demonstrating the value of risk management
Familiar with the company tools and is comfortable reviewing with all levels of management
Work Environment/Hours
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Standard Work Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30a-5p (37.5 Hours per week) Additional hours will be worked based on business needs
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with and listen to internal and external clients. The employee is required to sit frequently, frequent use of keyboard, frequent time viewing monitor/s, occasionally stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms.
