In this role you will provide software development services to one of our largest customers in the Insurance Industry.
You will be responsible the end-to-end development process, participating in requirements gathering and analyzing, design, development, debugging, deployment, and maintenance.
We expect you to take ownership of your role, providing your expertise on process improvements, to keep yourself aware of the last generation technologies and best development practices and to share your knowledge and ideas with the rest of the team.
You will be the face of DXC in front of our customer, and we trust that you will perform a great job understanding the customer needs and developing robust, clean, and scalable solutions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents moderately complex programs. Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
- Designs systems and programs to meet complex business needs. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Ensures programs meet standards and technical specifications; performs technical analysis and component delivery.
- Gathers information from existing systems, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists project manager in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks.
- Designs programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs.
- Works as a solutions provider rather than an order taker.
- Writes specifications for programs of low to moderate complexity.
- Assists support and/or project personnel in resolving moderately complex program problems. Works with client and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility. Provides technical advice on complex programming.
- Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
- Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.
- Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation.
- Remains abreast of industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards .
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent written and verbal English skill
- 7+ years Java development experience.
- Proficient in SQL.
- Comfortable using Eclipse and GIT .
- working knowledge of API and JavaScript.
- JSTL, JSP, Struts
- Insurance knowledge is a nice to have

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $84,100 - $156,100.
Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
