We are currently looking for a Consultant to join our Ricardo Rail Korea team.

 

 

Role Objective

Delivers projects by undertaking analysis, assessments, producing high quality reports, and perform general project and technical activities under the direction of a project manager or relevant staff member.  Works with greater independence. Contributes to proposal development, project management and delivery of small projects including overseeing work of less experienced/new staff. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and apply technical skills within your primary technical speciality and adjacent disciplines. Seek peer review of your work. Supervise and share technical knowledge with consultants / engineers less experienced.
  • Apply knowledge, learning and judgement in collating, and analysing data. Complete tasks by following agreed standards, guidance and procedures. Pursue continuous professional development opportunities that build experience and expand knowledge. Supervise and share technical knowledge with consultants / engineers less experienced.
  • Undertake project activities within the agreed timeframe to the expected quality. Apply agreed technical methodologies, using common tools and techniques.
  • Fulfill project management tasks as they are assigned within the timeline and budget assigned.
  • Ensure all client interactions are positive, and constructive and ensure we have a continuous improvement approach to report quality.
  • Manage utilisation forecast and actively look for project opportunities within the business to maintain utilisation target and to expand experience and knowledge. Escalate to your Line Manager and Project Manager when you have insufficient work to carry out, or too much work to handle. Share work with others when overloaded.
  • Coach colleagues on technical processes and improvements.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years practical experience as a Systems Assurance Consultant or similar related discipline within Rail
  • Degree or equivalent technical qualification, with experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Preferably possess a railway signaling or relevant background, experience in auditing/assessing is preferred
  • Has good subject knowledge and awareness and capabilities in specific areas of a certain topic. Possess significant practical design/application experience and am able to work independently on projects with little or even without a guide.
  • Systems Assurance engineering experience - ability to decompose a system context from project documentation, read and understand standards and understand key elements/interfaces.
  • Ability to work in a consultancy environment including the need for flexibility and client satisfaction. This includes understanding client needs and issues, developing requirements and solutions, managing client expectations, and delivering high-quality outputs.
