See yourself at Twilio

Join the team as our next Director, HRBP APJ

Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a globally anti-racist, anti-oppressive, anti-bias company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

This position is needed to lead the HR efforts across our Asia-Pacific (APJ) region by aligning business objectives with localized people strategies, programs, processes and tactics within multiple functions and locations such as Singapore, India, Japan, and ANZ.

This role allows you to coach and partner with employees and leaders at all levels to ensure that Twilions have an exceptional experience and that Twilio’s talent and organizational structure propel our rapid expansion in APJ.

If you are a leader who believes deeply in building inclusive and anti-racist environments, allowing employees from all backgrounds to contribute, grow and prosper, we’d love to hear from you.  As a senior leader in APJ, you must be a visible advocate and champion for our values, the Twilio Magic, helping build Twilio’s brand as an inclusive and diverse employer both internally and within the communities of our hubs in APJ. You must believe a diverse team, from the top down, allows all employees to achieve their full potential and as a result will allow Twilio to reach our goals, collectively.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support & partner on strategic and operational consultation on topics including organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent development, compensation, diversity and inclusion, and local employment laws.
  • Support a regional people strategy and cultivate regional and country-specific organizational health in collaboration with business leaders, HRBP partners and COE's.
  • Champion and role model Twilio’s values, corporate programs and change initiatives.
  • Influence decision making by clearly communicating insights and predictions grounded in people analytics and market trends.
  • Manage a team of HR Business Partners within the region and partner closely across our global HR Business Partner team and Centers of Excellence within the People team.

Required Experience:

  • 10+ Years of experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • International work experience and proficiency with local regulations in multiple countries within the APJ region.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and globally.
  • Experience as a regional HR Business Partner, operating in a location outside of the company headquarters.
  • People management experience directly leading others.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Will take the initiative to drive projects forward even under ambiguous circumstances, appropriately collaborating with partners along the way.

Desired:

  • Proficiency in multiple languages applicable to the region.
Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Location

This role will be remote, and based in India. Approximately 10% international travel is anticipated.

What We Offer

There are many benefits to working at Twilio, including, in addition to competitive pay, things like generous time-off, ample parental and wellness leave, healthcare, a retirement savings program, and much more. Offerings vary by location.
