Job description

 

AZRA is a specialty niche reinsurer, domiciled in California and licensed as an admitted insurer in 36 states (including District of Columbia), and is a qualified, accredited, or approved reinsurer in fifteen states. AZRA is a property casualty reinsurer which writes both prospective and legacy reinsurance. AZRA has specific expertise in run-off management of U.S. legacy insurance liabilities. It services Allianz Group affiliates and third parties including third party claims administration of asbestos, environmental, workers compensation, general liability, and construction defect liabilities.

 

AZRA has approximately 150 employees located nationwide with the majority working on a remote basis.

Manage sourcing and contract management services for all AZRA departments and AZRA serviced affiliates including services, software and equipment procurement through negotiation, and drafting. Coordinate execution of contracts.  On complex, high dollar acquisitions, negotiates to final agreement in collaboration with senior management, with oversight from general counsel or senior counsel.  Serves as the corporate resource on sourcing and procurement  contracting strategies and techniques for process alternatives relating to service provider contract terms and conditions.

 

What you do:

Management of New Proposals:

- Review Requests for Information (RFIs) and/or Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and interview users to determine parameters of proposed contracts and transactions.

- Initiate and direct the negotiation process with vendors to determine and define business requirements; ensure alignment and verification of final business requirements with end users.

- Provide advice and guidance to all levels of leadership regarding strategy, process, alternatives for financing transactions and contract terms and conditions.

 

Maintenance of Existing Contracts:

- Regularly meet with business partners to reassess requirements and gather feedback on additional opportunities to create value through sourcing and understand new/emerging needs.

- Coordinate resolution of disputes between vendors and end users.

- Identify, establish and implement opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency of contracting process, policies and procedures across business units.

 

Contracting Process Management:

- Identify, establish and implement opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency of contracting process, policies and procedures across business units.

- Facilitate awareness and required training on updates to contracting processes, policies and standards as needed.

- Cultivate deep understanding of Group Outsourcing Policy and Standard for Procurement, performance assessments and maintain required documentation.

 

What you bring:

- 6-7 years of experience required:  Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices and techniques involved in drafting and negotiating contracts including financial analysis and risk assessment.

- Four-year degree required; Law, Psychology, Accounting, Finance, Business or related; or equivalent relevant work experience.

 

Job may require periods of sitting.  Limited domestic and/or international travel may occur.
