Job description

 

Senior WHS Partner

 

              Location – Parramatta

              Employment type – Temporary Full time up to 30 June 2028

Salary – Clerk Grade 9/10 - $120,859 - $133,183 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation

 

 

Your role

 

The Senior Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Partner will engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to effectively develop and implement WHS initiatives and occupational health strategies. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and healthy workforce while addressing complex and high-risk Work Health and Safety matters.

Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) Overview

 

The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing.

The AHO is governed by an all-Aboriginal Board, which provides advice to the Minister for Water and Minister for Housing in NSW. In addition, the AHO manages and coordinates an annual capital works program, along with developing and implementing financial and resourcing strategies.

 

What you’ll do

 

As part of the People, Strategy & Development team, you will:

  • Deliver expert guidance on WHS issues, empowering managers and stakeholders to make informed decisions with expertise in identifying and mitigating psychosocial risks.
  • Develop, implement, and review WHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a high-performance WHS culture by partnering with clients and providing consistent advice and innovative solutions.
  • Implement effective WHS management systems tailored to meet the needs of frontline operations, employees, and key management stakeholders.
  • Promote and implement WHS initiatives aimed at driving continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Manage and evaluate WHS risk activities to ensure effective controls are in place.
  • Oversee incident management activities and develop strategies to prevent recurrence and mitigate potential risks.

The People Strategy & Development team is a customer-service oriented, solutions-focused team, with a core purpose of bringing their best every day to support the staff of the AHO and enable AHOs leaders to deliver on wide-ranging business objectives.

 

The position is based in 4 Parramatta Square, part of the Parramatta Square district, in a modern open plan office environment with all amenities nearby.  This is a hybrid position with up to 4 days working in office per week and the rest working remotely.  These arrangements may change according to business requirements.
