The Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's platform infrastructure. This role involves managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and reliable. The Platform Engineer will work closely with other IT teams to support business operations and enhance the overall IT environment.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

Platform Design and Implementation:

  • Design and deploy scalable and secure platform solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Implement and configure operational services such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), and cloud service providers (AWS, Azure).

System Maintenance and Monitoring:

  • Monitor platform performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to keep systems secure and up-to-date.

Security Management:

  • Implement and manage security measures to protect platform infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Performance Optimization:

  • Analyze system performance and usage patterns to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks.
  • Optimize platform configurations to improve efficiency and reliability.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and present reports on platform performance, security, and usage to management and stakeholders.

Incident Response:

  • Respond to platform incidents and outages, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of platform systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff on platform-related issues.

Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Ensure platform operations comply with organizational policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in platform technology and security to implement best practices.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve platform infrastructure to support business needs and technological advancements.
  • Stay updated on emerging platform technologies and trends, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate.

Vendor and Asset Management:

  • Manage relationships with platform service providers and vendors.
  • Evaluate and select platform products and services that meet organizational needs and budget constraints.

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level systems.

 

 Certifications: 

  • Security + CE
