We are seeking a Business Development Manager for our Questex Hospitality, Operational Real Estate Division. Questex Hospitality is the business intelligence platform for the Hospitality Investment community. We connect buyers and sellers through our editorial platform www.hospitalityinvestor.com as well as run some of the world’s largest Hospitality investment Conferences such as The International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF EMEA), The Annual Hotel Conference (AHC), The Resort & Residential Hospitality Forum (R&R). We are also launching a new event into Asia in 2024, The International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF Asia) as well as recently acquiring one of the world’s largest Hospitality Investment Conference is the US – NYU Hospitality Industry Investment Conference (NYUHIIC)
As a Business Development Manager working in a Hybrid capacity (3 days in the office and 2 days at home) you will serve as a strategic marketing consultant to your clients to help achieve their marketing objectives. The ideal candidate has experience working with clients on B2B marketing or events.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a sales territory and working all phases of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing. In addition, we are looking for the Account Executive to participate in sales strategy and contribute ideas to develop new revenue opportunities and customer bases.
As our Business Development Manager, Events & Media you’ll support Questex’s success by:
- Meets or exceeds forecasted sales (digital, marketing services, trade show/conference platforms) for territory of $1.7 M annually.
- Satisfies the needs of clients using a consultative selling style while being personable, professional and accommodating in manner.
- Develops a thorough understanding of the market and culture in order to attract new customers/business.
- Performs extensive research on marketplace developing lists of new prospects and lists of existing accounts (tiered) for follow-up process.
- Confers with sales management and other sales staff to develop growth opportunities.
- Maintains strong industry credibility through visible attendance at trade shows and other product presentations, staying updated on new developments and technologies and communicating this information to both key existing accounts and potential new accounts.
- Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for assigned properties in assigned tier of customer categories and determines actions to be taken on certain tier accounts.
- Generates direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling and face-to-face meetings.
- Maintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling. Forecasts and reports revenue by maintaining sales pipelines within assigned territory.
Your Experience and Education Include:
- College Degree in a related field preferred.
- 4 years minimum experience in trade show/media environment.
- Excellent presentation, writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to be a strong and savvy negotiator
- A strong sense of organization with strict attention to detail
- Ability to listen, adapt, and think quickly on your feet
