The Director of Sales is responsible to implement and execute all sales related activities in his respective market to drive occupancy and revenue to the resort. To achieve set targets through account management and introducing new business opportunities to the property recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the resort is competitively positioned within the market place.

What will I be doing?

A Director of Sales will work to develop the sales group and groom a high-performing sales team. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage hotel sales to ensure they accurately interpret and support the objectives of the business and use these plans to focus the sales efforts for all market segments
  • To use intelligence tool to acquire new luxury managed accounts
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to identify and drive focused activities on elements of the business that require additional support
  • Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions
  • Monitor offers, options and discounts for repeat bookings for groups, congresses and seminars in close cooperation with the Group Coordinator
  • Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly Forecast, Lead Management System, and Booking Reports
  • Actively participate and complete the preparation of the annual Sales and Market Plan, quarterly updates, and the complexed hotels' annual Budgets. Execute initiatives as outlined; swiftly implement strategies/tactics to offset changes in markets, economy or driven by the competitive set. Organize and/or attend scheduled group and related meetings
  • Contribute to the development of company sales and marketing initiatives by recommending, implementing and monitoring appropriate local activity
  • Organise comprehensive information describing the range of products and services offered by the hotel and deliver this information through relevant sales resources and sales channels to existing and potential Guests
  • Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the hotel and the management company
  • Prepare and present, on a monthly basis, the contribution, focus and activity of the proactive sales team to the hotel owners and senior management team
  • Liaise with the onsite reservation team to ensure seamless communication between the travel advisors and the hotel
  • Act as a liaison between hotels and customers when conflict resolution is required
  • Sales trips to relevant markets for the purpose of building business relationships with all relevant luxury travel accounts.
  • Responsible for the following markets and not limited to : CIS Countries, Europe, Russia and Scandinavia
  • Attendance of relevant key luxury tradeshows
  • Cooperate with other departments in the hotel, particularly Reservations and the Banqueting Department, to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs
  • Contribute to relevant management meetings to develop and implement sales initiatives
  • To maintain a high guest service focus by approaching your job with the guests always in mind and being proactive in a timely manner towards their needs and requests.

  • To actively promote the services and facilities of the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island and the Conrad Hotels and Resorts to guests and suppliers of the Resort.
  • To perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner that ensures your safety and that of others in your workplace.
  • To ensure that the Conrad Brand Standards are fully implemented and demonstrated by all Members of the Team.
  • To fully embrace the values of Hilton Worldwide and Conrad Hotels and Resorts.
  • To be fully familiar with the Conrad Brand Standards and the Quality Assurance Audit and to follow these standards of service at all times.
  • To have a complete understanding of the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island’s Team Members Handbook and to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Resort.

  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times by adhering to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Grooming Standards.
  • To report to work punctually wearing the correct uniform and nametag at all times.
  • To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the resort’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
  • To takes direction from and carry out any requests by management in conjunction with work.
  • To provide guests with friendly, efficient, accurate and polite service at all times.
  • To keep up-to-date with the SALT (Satisfaction and Loyalty Tracking) results and to seek to positively influence these results by following the Conrad Brand Standards.


What are we looking for?

A Director of Sales serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • 5 years or above hotel sales and related experience
  • Established contacts in the high-end luxury segment.
  • Established contacts within the Consortia segments (Virtuoso, Serendipians, Internova etc)
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and/or relevant computer applications required.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly accountable and reliable, able to work remotely
