About the Role
As a Motion Designer on our Brand Studio team, your contributions will be key in helping us distinguish and define Ramp as the brand leader in our category. The Brand Studio team is a multidisciplinary team responsible for design, imagery, video, writing, and operations. We work on high-impact and foundational projects across the company, from shaping our brand voice and tone to establishing the design systems that underpin our website, brand advertising, sales, and marketing materials.
The ideal candidate is deeply interested in motion and design systems and has experience working on various marketing executions. You'll be responsible for scaling the execution of a motion design style that will ripple across brand touch points like marketing campaigns, social media, and web-based UI. You’ll work alongside the brand leadership and designers and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners.
Please note that this Motion Designer role will require you to be comfortable with working in-person at our NYC HQ (located near Madison Square Park) at least 2 days/week
What You’ll Do
Lead the creative development of Ramp's motion design, including setting motion styles & behaviors, storyboarding, and building motion toolkits
Create high-quality 2D motion graphics and animations for marketing materials living on the website, social, events, and any other brand surfaces
Help establish systems to streamline day-to-day animation needs and maintain brand consistency
Work with emerging motion software to help scale motion outside of After Effects
Work closely with Creative Directors, Brand Designers, Project Managers, and Producers to see a project from start to finish
Develop motion tests and prototypes to demonstrate animation concepts and gather stakeholder feedback
Occasionally work with external agencies and freelancers to ensure brand consistency in motion design
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to conceptualize and implement animation solutions that enhance user interactions and improve usability
Work with developers to ensure animations are implemented correctly and performed optimally across different devices and browsers
What You Need
3+ years of experience in motion design, producing high-end creative work for the tech/entertainment industry, production companies, or advertising agencies
Strong portfolio showcasing your motion design work
Proficiency in motion design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Adobe Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator), Cinema 4D/Blender (plus), and Figma
A refined grasp of design fundamentals: typography, color, and layout
Understanding emerging motion and prototyping tools like Jitter and Capsule, which help with faster workflows
Ability to meticulously deliver pixel-perfect work to production
Systems-level thinking and ability to execute high-quality work consistently
Be a strong communicator, collaborator, and advocate for the brand and its impact
Experience in working collaboratively with copywriters, marketers, and producers
