We are seeking a motivated Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with experienced engineers to deliver mission-critical SaaS technology products to our customers. Your main responsibilities will include supporting Jira project data operations day to day tasks, writing infrastructure as code, automating existing business processes, supporting existing infrastructure and data operations, and building highly available cloud infrastructure. You will also manage and monitor the performance of cloud systems, as well as assist with setting up data exchange integrations with customers and vendors.
 
This is a remote position with excellent opportunities for learning and growth in cloud engineering.
On-call rotation: 1 week of on-call L2 support every 4 weeks. Work Authorization: You must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship (currently or in the future).
 
Overall Responsibilities: 
  • Implement and support existing managed file transfer integrations.
  • Write infrastructure as code to automate cloud solutions.
  • Assist with managing Managed File Transfer (MFT) and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) applications and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement automated deployments.
  • Help build highly available infrastructure for our products.
  • Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure performance.
  • Monitor and manage critical cloud applications that support business operations.
  • Deliver high-quality work in an agile environment.
 
Requirements: 
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • Basic understanding of public cloud environments such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Familiarity with AWS services.
  • Understanding of DevOps, automation, and orchestration principles.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with an understanding of IT operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of managed file transfer and data integration practices (e.g., SFTP, FTP, AS2) is preferred.
  • Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or EKS.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization practices.
  • Understanding of public cloud security practices.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
  • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) applications is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with configuration management systems such as Ansible.
  • Experience with business continuity or disaster recovery planning is a plus.

Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 per year, plus a bonus calculated as a percentage of base salary.  This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
