Position Overview:
Trio is seeking a detail-oriented, Client Energy Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of client bills in the dynamic and fast-paced North American energy sector.
The Client Energy Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing energy billing processes for Trio clients, ensuring all invoices are accurate, funded and processed on time, and compliant with contractual agreements. This role involves close collaboration with clients and the finance and energy advisory teams to resolve any billing issues and to support the financial operations related to client accounts.
This position includes a focus on billing support and will be responsible for managing and analyzing energy data, supporting billing processes, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial transactions related to energy usage. Additional responsibilities include tracking energy consumption, preparing billing reports, and providing detailed financial insights to support the client’s energy initiatives.
This role will also provide analytical support to natural gas and electricity energy managers in Trio’s Energy Supply Advisory team.
The Client Energy Billing Specialist is a full-time remote position. Open to Senior Specialist title based on experience.
Job Requirements:
Client Bill Management (~40% of time):Ensure all client bills are accurate, complete, funded appropriately, and processed in a timely mannerMonitor and track billing cycles, deadlines, and payment schedulesVerify the accuracy of billing data, correcting any errors before processingWork directly with processing and payables partners to address and resolve data integrity issuesClient Communication (~15% of time):Respond to client inquiries regarding bills, payments, and account balancesProvide detailed explanations of billing statements and resolve any discrepanciesMaintain positive client relationships through professional and timely communicationFinancial Reconciliation (~20% of time):Reconcile client accounts to ensure payments are received and accurately appliedWork closely with the finance team to resolve any discrepancies in client billing and paymentsAssist in the preparation of monthly financial reports related to billing activitiesSystem Management (~10% of time):Utilize billing software and systems to manage client accounts and process invoices.Update and maintain accurate billing records in the systemGenerate reports from billing systems to analyze billing trends and identify issuesCompliance and Documentation (~10% of time):Ensure all billing activities comply with company policies and industry regulationsDocument billing procedures and maintain records of all transactionsAd-Hoc Projects (~5% of time)
