The Role:
The R&D Electrical Engineer II is part of a multidisciplinary team who are responsible for developing and refining products and processes for use in the automated logistics industry. The R&D Electrical Engineer is largely focused on industrial electrical design but is also engaged in aspects of machine control and electromechanical design. This role requires travel up to 10%, both domestically and internationally.
Core Job Functions Include: · Working on electrical design of control panels, cables and control stations
· Perform system and component level calculations to size components and equipment for the application (conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, overcurrent and short circuit protection, control panels, control networks, etc.)
· Learning standard methods for performing engineering calculations
· Following process and design standards in place for use by project teams
· Helping develop automation for repetitive CAD and design processes
· Working with different types of networks (Profinet, Profibus, AS-I, Ethernet/IP)
· Updating documentation in our Engineering Change Management system

Required Areas of Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Electrical aptitude and knowledge of acceptable practices, techniques, and codes
Electrical Design for Machine Control
Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical/Eplan (Single and Multi-Line Drawings)
Knowledge of controls engineering theories and principles
Willingness to learn
Proactive
Passion for problem solving
Good verbal, and written skills
Ability to work in a team
Preferred Areas of Knowledge:
Basic knowledge or familiarity of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (NEC) & UL508A
Motor Control Theory
Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
Education: B.E. / B. Tech (Electricals /Electronics / Instrumentation).
