US Medical Affairs (USMA) HIV Regional Medical, Executive Director, – Remote

Job Overview:
USMA HIV Regional Executive Medical Director is a key member of the USMA leadership team, reporting to the VP of USMA, Virology. The role is responsible for leading a team of US Medical Experts committed to Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) in the US. We are seeking a highly qualified medical leader in HIV treatment and prevention to support our US medical education initiatives and opportunities to improve health outcomes in people with HIV and people benefiting from HIV prevention. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HIV with extensive clinical experience and a proven track record in research, public health and/or quality of care measures. This role involves engaging with clinicians and organizations with varying levels of HIV knowledge to enhance their awareness of the latest scientific data and innovations that could impact the quality of HIV care and prevention especially in communities with high incidence of new HIV infections.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership on our medical educational programs related to status neutral approach, HIV treatment and prevention for healthcare professional at all levels of expertise.
- Support the USMA HIV Field and Strategy teams, identifying opportunities for alignment and synergies across HIV Treatment and Prevention that demonstrate our commitment to EHE
- Collaborate on research projects and real-world evidence that improve the care cascade across HIV treatment and prevention and address unmet needs in clinical practice and patient care.
- Serve as scientific reviewer for study concepts, abstracts, and manuscripts conducted in the US
- Provide inspirational leadership to the USMA HIV teams by creating an environment of collaboration, partnership, mutual respect, and shared goals with clear responsibilities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- M.D., D.O., PharmD, DNP or DPA with a minimum of 15 years managing patients in diverse setting and a background in infectious diseases, public health or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare protocols, strategies and patient care.
- Extensive research experience with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders and educate a wide range of health care audience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Provide clear leadership and management in the development and delivery of a variety of highly complex projects with the ability to assess, understand and communicate continuously expanding medical and scientific information.
- Excellent teamwork, strategic and organizational skills to support project planning across multiple activities, with ability to anticipate, organize and prioritize workload on multiple ongoing projects to direct reports and meet timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to learn and adhere to Gilead’s regulatory and legal (Business Conduct) requirements.
- Able to work with a level of autonomy and independence and able to manage budgeting/oversight of operational expenses.
- Regional Field role with the flexible travel schedule up to 60 percent as needed.

The salary range for this position is: $341,190.00 - $441,540.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
