The Broadcom-VMWare (BC-VMW) Professional Services Organization (PSO) is looking for an experienced & motivated Consulting Architect/Sr.Consultant role with specialization in Applications & Network Security. PSO influences the success of all projects by advising, architecting, coordinating, designing, and implementing fully functional technology solutions that meet our customers’ business needs while delivering a superior customer experience.
The Consulting Architect/Sr.Consultant is a senior technical position requiring excellent interpersonal/listening skills, complex problem solving, big picture thinking and solution articulation. With a clear and agreed upon client vision, you will be responsible for scoping a solution to realize the vision.
The ideal candidate will partner with customers, BC-VMW sales for pre-sales support, Worldwide Consulting Centers (WWCC) and several other teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient security solutions that address customer business problems and accelerates time to value.
Teamwork is critically important to success in the role, as is creating and leveraging a strong network amongst your peers and internal/external teams. You should be ready to take ownership of initiatives and programs to aid in the delivery of customer solutions. The ideal resource will have a good mix of technical skills, business acumen, and a strong desire to delight our customers.
As a trusted customer advocate, you required to have a broad understanding of Application & Network Security concepts, industry standards around security frameworks and their applicability, current challenges, risk trends and solutions in the market space. You are expected to to help shape and execute strategies for complex security requirements for our customers using a broad array of BC-VMW’s and third-party products, methodologies, processes & tools to meet customers’ requirements around homogeneous and heterogeneous environments.
The Consulting Architect/Sr.Consultant must have a broad knowledge of BC-VMW’s product stake, how those technologies work together to a solution, and how to secure those solutions to build a secure, zero-trust, micro-segmented platform.
The ideal candidate must be driven with a proven track record in software/technology consulting skills and possess experience to design deploy and implement solution for our customers in two or more areas of BC-VMW’s security portfolio of products such as Firewalls (Disturbed Firewall, Gateway Firewall, Security Intelligence), AVI Load balancers (Local traffic manager, GSLB, Web app firewall, application visibility) and Advanced threat prevention (Distributed IDPS, Malware analysis & prevention, Sandboxing, NTA & NDR solutions.
The Consulting Architect/Sr.Consultant should maintain his or her knowledge of current security standards, threat identification and mitigation, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional BC-VMW teams to architect, design and deploy Security solutions to customers.
- Developing comprehensive security strategies & architectures such as Zero Trust for customers in green field and brown field environments. Design technical and policy driven solutions based on approved strategy.
- Devising delivery approaches and roadmaps that can help customers realize their future state vision on Security. Adept in leading a team of SME’s in executing these roadmaps.
- You will be responsible for scoping the solution and supporting conceptual design/client proposal generation. This includes estimation of effort calculations, defining service descriptions, risk identification/mitigation and drafting detailed work packages
- Take ownership and accountability for programs or projects that you will be leading. Work as part of a wider program team or independently act subject matter expert on ANS Security projects.
- Where applicable, identify and develop use cases into high-quality solutions in the ANS Security area that can be packaged as repeatable solutions.
- Assist in the development/refinement of our service offerings as well as content, best practices, and white papers in the security domain.
- Participate actively in developing the ANS security practice by bringing together thought leadership & industry experience.
- Practice contributions span activities such as presenting to internal audiences, working with the BC-VMW Security Business Units on potential product issues or opportunities
- Actively demonstrate commercial awareness and stay within the scope of the contracted work.
Pre-Requisites
- Minimum 10-15 years’ overall experience in IT Security space with a minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience on delivering ANS security projects for large enterprises.
- Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire BC-VMW product portfolio and future product direction and expert level knowledge of the ANS Security.
- Should possess recent, real-world experience in large, complex security implementation in a senior technical leadership role.
- Should have interacted with the C suite executives in developing and driving a security vision.
- Should be able to provide technical leadership and quality oversight on projects that involves ANS Security and have a fair grasp of enterprise networking concepts and experience in networking tools such as NSX & CISCO.
- Should have extensive experience and demonstrate knowledge in information security, risk management, cryptography, authentication methods, security protocols, and data analytics.
- Good oral and written communications skills, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to interact efficiently with a large Project Management Office and other technical teams. Gather lessons Learned and lead the Lessons Learned review with the client.
Certification and Education
- A degree (MS preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field is required.
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or higher certification
- VMware VCAP level certification
- vCDX, CCNA (desirable)
- CISA – certified information system auditor(desirable)
- CRISC – certified risk and information systems control(desirable)
