Responsibilities:
The Charge Nurse in the Med/Surg Unit supervises and coordinates the delivery of clinical nursing care within Med/Tele. This position entails managing patient care, staff assignments, and ensuring that all Med/Tele operations align with both hospital policies and regulatory standards.
The Charge Nurse serves as the primary liaison between the medical staff, patients, families, and other healthcare team members, by ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the Med/Surg team. These individual assigns duties to nursing staff and ensures proper coverage for all shifts, address and resolves conflicts or issues among staff and patients efficiently, and oversees the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
The Charge Nurse manages and allocates nursing and medical resources effectively, and coordinates with admissions to optimize bed utilization. As you know the Med/Surg floor is a fast-paced area of the hospital and demands a balance of clinical expertise, leadership, and compassionate patient care, this role is integral to maintaining the quality and efficency of quality healthcare.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS 30 days upon of hire and maintain current.
4. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred.
5. PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients.
