Design Integration Engineer

An exciting opportunity is available for a Systems Engineer on the JSF LiftSystem® program. The mechanical or aerospace engineer will have a sound knowledge of systems engineering, robust design tools, testing, and analytical methods. You will be responsible for: resolving complex fleet issues; defining requirements on new activities; designing and integrating tests, products, systems & product systems; performing technical analysis; verifying products, systems, and components throughout the product lifecycle. You will also be a key contributor in the development of the whole system architecture and overseeing functional and physical interactions within the propulsion system and at the airframe interface. This role is well suited for a growing or experienced engineer seeking to broaden their technical background, increase their experience on high impact and high profile projects, and gain cross functional technical leadership experience. This role is a hybrid role where remote working can be combined with in office time as required.

Key Accountabilities:
- Lead, influence interdisciplinary teams, technologists and coordinate with subsystem teams to solve complex problems and deliver system solutions at whole engine level
- Proficiency with system integration & system modelling tools. Very strong use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories to define/optimize whole engine design and integration
- Coordinate activities across stakeholders to define, manage and meet interdependencies between subsystems to meet requirements
- Experience in building and assessing systems engineering and architecture models using a modelling methodology to conduct technical assessments and recommendations that inform key technical decisions.
- Represents the propulsion systems function to Rolls-Royce customers and provides technical support/analysis supporting product development through all design phases (new engine development through fleet support)
- Progress system through gated reviews. Support or lead risk assessments, flight clearance reviews, safety reviews, product certification, and technical audits from a functional aspect
Basic Qualifications:
- An Associate Degree in Engineering with 4+ years of related experience OR;
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience OR;
- A Masters degree in Engineering
- Experience with modeling software such as NX, setting test requirements, and post processing of data.
- Experience with requirements management.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with analytical software similar to ANSYS
- Programming skills such as Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, PERL, C++
- Experience with Control system hardware or with Performance methods or tools
- Analytical ability to deal with challenging engineering problems and to determine root case and corrective action
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative
- Ability to plan and coordinate assigned work with other groups and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
