R2R Senior Associate in Financial Accounting 

As an Accounting Operations Specialist, you'll ensure timely and accurate General Ledger operations, manage financial closings, and reconcile accounts in line with GAAP standards. Your expertise in accounting principles and proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems will support our financial integrity. Your analytical abilities and dedication to quality will make a significant impact in our collaborative and dynamic team.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for complete, timely and qualitative execution of Accounting Operations for General Ledger according to defined activity split and in line with local GAAP
• Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly closing and reporting activities including local books
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts (group and local)
• Performs account monitoring
• Oversees and performs all manual journal entries
• Responsible for supporting the preparation of the Financial Statements in accordance with BKA/IFRS and Bayer Group internal steering purposes and according to the country specific legislation allowing a certification by external auditors
• Handling judgment based activities and support other dealing with it
• Being up to date with local/country accounting rules and implement it accordingly to ensure correct presentation of Financial Statement according to local accounting rules (updates in local commercial law, accounting regulations)
• Preparing statistical reports and necessary report for local authorities incl. reports to National Bank
• Implementing adjustments to local accounting rules to be in line with Groupe guidelines
• Assesses and analyzes relevant accounting issues, consults with respective local and global functions and with internal/external auditors if required to drive timely financial impact recording in appropriate accounting period
• Evaluating the impact on financial statements and on the accounting operating model in particular of projects driven by divisions and functions.
• Interact with key business functions (e.g. Controlling, Procurement, Product Supply, etc.) to ensure proper accounting for the particular areas of operation.
• Interact with internal and external auditors ensuring prompt response to audit requests.
• Documenting and monitoring internal controls.
• Act as a Key User for specific area or tools (e.g. Closing, Reporting, General Ledger).
• Prepare and conduct process specific trainings.
• Creation and update of Supporting Documentation.
• Continuously increasing quality in daily tasks and looking for improvements.
• Support local projects such as legal entity and system mergers, acquisitions or divestitures.

Who You Are:
 

• Very good English and Polish language skills, German beneficial
• University degree preferable in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• 3 + years of experience in accounting, controlling or similar.
• Profound knowledge of general accounting, IFRS and Polish GAAP.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (esp. MS Excel).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Dedication and accuracy, strong organizational skills, ability to make decisions, and eager to learn;
• Motivation, communication, teamwork and ability to operate in a highly intercultural environment.
• Intermediate in SAP or other ERP system
