Functional area: Finance / Controlling
The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial and commercial activities of the Gwynt y Môr, and Robin Rigg windfarms and is a member of the relevant Senior Management Teams. The role holder is the key contact to all functions providing financial or commercial services to the Assets/JVs. They are directly accountable for steering team members from the non-controlling areas and supporting the General Managers, representing any JVs interests on all financial and commercial topics as required.
About the role:
- Support business case assessments and decision-making with commercial expertise covering a broad range of topics from day-to-day wind farm operations, optimisations through to life assessments and decommissioning
- Financial Asset Controlling and performance tracking. Maintaining a long-term value-based view of the asset’s financial position
- Provide a governance function for the asset and ensure that RWE Finance processes, guidelines, and best practices are met/used
- Responsible for the production of all internal and external stakeholder reports and financial figures (including budgeting, business plans, business models, benchmarking, commercial analysis, and monthly reporting)
- Responsible for commercial contract and claims management on behalf of the General Manager
- Responsible for contractual or commercial risk management, including implementation of risk mitigation approaches
- Liquidity management including dividends and/or cash flow management for the respective legal entities
- Manage interface to RWE Insurance and management of all insurance claims on behalf of the Joint Venture
- Form highly influential relationships with external stakeholders supporting the Joint Venture
- Work effectively with a broad range of internal stakeholders within RWE Renewables and the wider RWE AG organisation
Job requirements and experience:
- Masters or relevant Degree in Finance or Economics. A technical degree with a strong financial component is sufficient
- Several years of experience in the energy business
- A proven background in finance and commercial management
- Experience in project, supplier, risk, and contract management, sound understanding of applicable laws
- Advanced communication skills and fluent in the English language
- Strong analytical skills
- Profound business-management knowledge
- Entrepreneurial thinking and mindset
- Open and team-oriented
Advantageous, but not essential:
- Several years of experience in the wind energy business
- Experience with the management of joint venture organisations, and complex stakeholder management
There is the flexibility to work from home, with a requirement to work from our Gwynt y Môr site twice a week
