Job Title : Vice President – Systems Engineering

Team/Department Description : Technology Services Group - TSG Management

Role/Responsibilities :

As a critical member of the Technology Services Group (TSG) leadership team, reporting to the SVP - TSG, Vice President of Systems Engineering will be responsible for owning the infrastructure, network and cloud operations/engineering. This role is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires immediate impact upon joining the team. The VP Systems Engineering will join the TSG India site team and will be required to spend 3 days per week in Moody’s Bangalore office. This role is critical to the success of the TSG and will require close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment with TSG, business, and corporate goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

Global shared ownership of Moody’s infrastructure operations being delivered from couple of countries covering following the sun model.

Technology leader representing the Technology Services Group in the region

Manage Engineering and Operations teams consisting of on-site employees and consultants across a number of network, cloud and data center technologies.

Work collaboratively with business and technology stakeholders in achieving full ITIL process compliance, including incident, change, problem, configuration and major incident processes.

Co-ownership of global risk & control program execution to de-risk Moody’s network, cloud and data center infrastructure.

Joint responsibility of Disaster Recovery procedures and exercises with application and service management.

Work with PMO, business and technology in efficient resource management to deliver projects within budget and timelines. Track, evaluate, report and attain optimum resource utilization of engineers deployed in projects and operating services.

Resolve client satisfaction issues and ensure high-priority/escalated issues are addressed in a timely manner.

Contributes to technology roadmaps by partnering with Engineering and Architecture functions.

Advise senior management on matters related to service quality, service development, budgets, personnel, and new opportunities.

Lead the recruiting and hiring strategy for the TSG organization in India.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvements across engineering processes with well-defined KPIs, including automation, cost engineering, data, and metrics.

Work closely with the cybersecurity team to ensure applications and infrastructure meet key operational security metrics.

Drive continuous improvement (productivity and quality) in service operations by initiating change and creating an environment that is conducive to change.

Ensure the team understands, accepts, and supports departmental goals and objectives.

Experience:

15+ years of experience delivering infrastructure services and solutions in a technical capacity.

Highly experienced in operations and support of datacenter and cloud services.

Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google) would be considered a plus.

Working experience in AWS (API Gateway, IAM, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, Aurora, Glue, DynamoDB, EKS, Docker), Python, Scala, Java/J2EE (Javascript, React, Angular JS), Web Services (REST and SOAP), Micro Services (Spring, Spring Boot) cloud service offerings is desired.

The VP Mgr Systems Engineering will lead a team of engineers and professionals, manage large-scale projects, build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, manage budgets and resources, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
