POSITION SUMMARY: 
As the Intermediate Accountant reporting to the General Accounting Manager, you will support the Finance function of the company by playing a key role in the month end close and reporting processes. You will be closely collaborating with the other members of the Finance team and support the annual audits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform month end journal entries and related procedures, ensuring accurate and timely completion of the financial deliverables
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations accurately and timely
  • Prepare month end account reconciliations accurately and timely
  • Prepare and record monthly payroll transactions
  • Support the annual and statutory audits
  • Prepare various monthly reports and perform P&L analysis
  • Perform treasury procedures such as preparing wires
  • Record vendor invoices
  • Monitor internal procedures and strengthen compliance programs and internal controls
  • Review expense reports for proper adherence to company policies and manage reimbursements of expense reports as per company timeline

  • QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; and,
  • Chartered Professional Accounting designation (CPA) or working towards
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Self-directed, demonstrates experience in effective time management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with other teams
  • Team oriented individual that can work with various levels of the organization
  • Positive outlook and attitude towards challengesSelf advocate
  • Flexible, capable of working within a continuously changing fully remote environment
  • Intermediate Excel skills, specifically able to perform Vlookups, use pivot tables, being familiar with a wide range of formulas, able to troubleshoot formula errors
  • Understanding of Canadian tax basics (HST/GST structure/application)
