The Master Data Governance (MDG) Material Lead is responsible for data quality and data processes for the integration of global data policies and procedures into the everyday life of Simpson Strong-Tie’s business processes.  You will specialize and focus on Material Master domain and related supporting data. You’ll work with management to ensure data management initiatives and sustaining processes are aligned with the strategic business objectives of the company.  You will be responsible for implementing the Corporate Data Policy, the Data Quality Program, and supporting compliance and audit of data for Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory requirements within their data domain.  The primary measure of success is sustainable data quality for all Simpson SAP Master data as measured and reported by the users of the data.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Team and Project Leadership: (30%)

  • Lead end-to-end project management for data governance initiatives, from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timelines.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and managing expectations through clear communication and regular updates.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams of data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress against milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Change Management: (25%)

  • Candidate will lead in streamlining and standardization of end-to-end material master process and will drive business transformation and continuous improvement delivering value, cost reduction, deployment of automation, business intelligence to support data driven decisions, reimagine processes to streamline and drive efficiencies.
  • You will be a cultural change agent, collaborating with departmental leaders and employees, and reimagining processes to streamline and drive efficiencies.
  • Implementation of tools and AI to support market research

Quality (25%)

  • Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of deliverables and outcomes.
  • Exercise strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and manage ambiguity.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating feedback loops and lessons learned into future projects.
  • Familiar with root cause analysis technique and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to train, teach or coach business professionals.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Business or IT Related BA/BS or equivalent preferred. MBA, a plus
  • 7 years of operational experience and/or functional understanding of Operations from a Corporate, Regional and local perspective while maintaining a customer focus.
  • 7 years of Project Management experience in US and international with a focus on operational projects that involve use of technology
  • 7 years ERP implementation experience that includes full cycle ETL and 3 yrs.+ of M & A integration experience in a multi-national manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years Software business process testing and documentation experience
  • 3+ years hands on expertise in SAP Data Migration using tools like SAP BODS, SAP LTMC, LSMW, etc.
  • Experience in Master Data Governance, SAP 9.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in a non-English language (French, Spanish and/or German) is a plus.
  • Ability to decompose complex processes into sub-processes.
  • Special consideration is given to candidates with AI-Machine Learning concepts and experience with ML technology experience with SAP preferred or other ERP.

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 15% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Pleasanton, CA, or remote work is also an option.

Pay

$89000 -$181000 / year

* Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location
