Position Overview

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a talented team of engineers responsible for building scalable, high-performance solutions using TypeScript and microservices architecture. You will provide technical and strategic leadership while fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Your role involves driving high-quality delivery, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring that development aligns with both business objectives and best practices. You will be a part of an innovative team dedicated to making a difference in the world, will work on a greenfield project where your contributions will have a significant impact on the world we live in, and enjoy a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values continuous learning and development

You will report to a Senior Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership by consulting on methods, tools, techniques, standards, and procedures, with a focus on TypeScript and MicroServices architecture
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, offering mentorship, fostering career growth opportunities, and handling performance management to ensure both individual and team success
  • Define key development activities, deliverables, and timelines to meet business objectives, ensuring alignment with both technical and product goals
  • Lead efforts to enhance system reliability and scalability by implementing SRE best practices, focusing on reducing MTTD (Mean Time to Detect) and MTTR (Mean Time to Recovery) using observability tools
  • Decompose large technical problems into manageable components, provide clear technical solutions, and lead implementation to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with other teams to ensure the smooth integration of various services and systems into the product
  • Develop and shape plans by estimating task complexity, resource requirements, and timelines, ensuring timely delivery while balancing technical and product priorities
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with a strong focus on people management, mentorship, and performance optimization
  • 5+ years in defining and driving architecture and security improvements at both project and team levels
  • Strong experience with TypeScript and MicroServices development
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with SRE principles and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the sustainability domain
  • Proven knowledge of database systems, including SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience scaling teams and projects in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment
  • Passion for sustainability and building technology solutions that positively impact the environment
