As a Plant Chemist at Covestro, you'll be at the forefront of innovation and process optimization. Your expertise will drive our manufacturing excellence and contribute to our global leadership in the chemical industry.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process Optimization and Cost Efficiency:

  • Identify, propose, support, and execute projects for quality improvement, process optimization/debottlenecking, cost reduction, and yield improvement.
  • Deliver expert technical support on product chemistry, process technology, and complex processing challenges., Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams, including operators and team leaders, and Quality Control Technicians.

Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Support site quality assurance activities by leading pFMEA studies, participating in or leading QRA studies, supporting or leading root cause investigations for customer complaints, and conducting internal GMP audits.
  • Manage MOC processes for new product introductions, process modifications, raw material changes, and supplier updates, while ensuring compliance with SHEQ standards.

Product Upscaling and Technology Transfer:

  •  Support product transfers to other manufacturing sites, and facilitate upscaling of new and modified products, ensuring smooth transfer from R&D to plant production.
  • Evaluate the technical, safety, and quality aspects of new products before their integration into plant operations, ensuring compatibility with existing manufacturing capabilities

Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between R&D and Manufacturing departments to align on product introductions, product transfers, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate as a specialist in HAZOP studies and Maintenance FMECA for safe and environmentally compliant plant operations.

Innovation and Value Add:

  • Implement and maintain best practices in chemical and technical processes, driving product quality and safety excellence.
  • Facilitate strong alignment between R&D and Manufacturing teams  to ensure successful new product launches and process improvement projects that align with business objectives.

WHO ARE YOU?

  • You have a master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Technology with over 5 years of relevant experience in a similar function, or a bachelor’s with 10 years of experience.
  • You bring a strong production-focused mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You possess effective communication and stakeholder management abilities in cross-functional settings.
  • You are fluent in English, with Dutch fluency prioritized.
  • You demonstrate a proactive and results-driven approach to work
  • You are familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is advantageous.

  • Profit-Sharing Bonus (PSP): Depending on the salary grade, the target bonus percentage is  5%. The maximum payout can reach up to 12.5%.
  • Do you travel business kilometers with your own transportation? Then you will receive a mileage allowance of € 0.36 per kilometer, of which € 0.23 is untaxed. (with a maximum of 60km per day)
  • a home work allowance of € 2.35 per day if you can work from home.
