Overview:
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the Cloud infrastructure of the next generation Blood Establishment (BECS) platform. All team members are considered problem-solvers and actively participate in identifying problems and building solutions that solve the root causes. This is a hands-on position that builds and deploys high quality capabilities and features.
The ideal candidate is comfortable leading Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Cloud initiatives while championing availability, reliability, monitoring, and performance excellence. This role collaborates closely with business leaders, product teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to create value.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000 to $165,000.
Actual pay will be determined based upon a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location, and may include other job-related factors such as certification(s), professional licensure, or internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements and specifications to design Cloud solutions that deliver value to the customer.
- Identify and report defects, track issues, and work closely with development teams to resolve.
- Comfortable delivering and monitoring solutions through scripting automations (ex. Python, UNIX shell, YAML, and JSON).
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of multiple infrastructure automation tools and technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Implementation and support of DevOps tools including GIT and CI/CD Pipelines.
- Integrate automation solutions with other IT tools and platforms.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to build and manage infrastructure in a consistent and repeatable way.
- Develop and implement best practices for automation development and operation.
- Stay up to date on the latest Cloud trends and technologies in IT infrastructure automation.
- Collaborate with customers, developers, and stakeholders to understand their needs and develop effective automation solutions.
- Document your work and share your knowledge with others.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of deep technical systems experience supporting production environments.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing, building, and deploying Cloud solutions.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS services and solutions.
• 3+ years working with monitoring solutions (ex. Dynatrace).
• Comfortable with Unix (Linux) and Windows system administration.
• Scripting skills for automation of administrative and security processes.
• Infrastructure automation (IcS - Terraform).
• Containerization (Rancher, Docker, K8S, EKS).
• CI/CD frameworks and tools (Gitlab, Artifactory, Ansible).
• Experience with test automation frameworks a plus.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Experience working in a SaaS-based product development environment or FDA-regulated medical device environment desired.
• Cloud and Security certifications a plus.
