About the role
We’re looking for an IT Cloud Architect - specialized Storage & Backup to join our growing team!
As a Storage & Backup IT Architect, you will play a key role within the technology architecture team at Intact and report directly to the Manager of the team.
What you'll do here:
- Develops and maintains the systems and technology models and standards for a particular project.
- Assists in the implementation of standards and orientations for the personnel in charge of executing plans and projects.
- Participates in architecture and planning projects.
- Propose coherent and efficient technology solutions while ensuring their scalability, modularity and integration.
- Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the current backend solutions and makes recommendations that meet the ambitions and expectations of the organization in adherence to infrastructure and security patterns.
- Implementation of Storage Based Solutions including Block, File and Object storage, SAN connectivity, Backup, Disaster and Cyber Recovery
- Providing Technical assistance to IT Operations Storage and Backup team
- Ability to lead teams of diverse experts and participate in multidiscipline projects.
- Ability to think strategically about business, product and service requirements.
- Ability to take tactical decisions, as required to support immediate operational challenges.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business administration, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT and or IS.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Storage and Backup (AWS, Azure).
- Strong understanding of common framework and legal requirements for Data backup and retention span.
- Strong understanding of Backups encryptions and Data protection.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing Backup and Storage enterprise solutions.
- Strong understanding of enterprise disaster recovery solutions.
- Proven experience in the following vendor data center backup and recovery solutions: Hitachi, Dell, NetApp, Purestorage, Cohesity, Rubrik, Commvault.
- Good understanding of Public Cloud Computing solutions; IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Good understanding of TOGAF Architecture Principles.
- Good understanding of SOC 2, PCI DSS requirements and HIPPA security rules and guiding principles.
- Bilingual (French and English) (Senior level communication skills) – Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
Nice-to-have:
- Hold an Administrator or Professional level of certification with one or more enterprise-class storage vendor.
- Any industry cloud certifications and/or experience with vendors such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
