We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our finance ecosystem group in the Commerce organization. In this role you’ll spearhead the vision and strategy for a new 0-1 product initiative, empowering sellers to easily manage their money and grow their business. You’ll also collaborate with a team of designers working on other finance-related products across the organization such as Payments and Capital, building an end-to-end ecosystem of excellent experiences. 

This is a hybrid role working from our New York City headquarters. You will report to a Product Design Manager.

You'll Get To…
  • Help Squarespace users grow their businesses by designing best-in-class financial products
  • Drive strategy and vision for a new high impact, high visibility product initiative
  • Work closely with other designers and Product and Engineering partners to ideate on and deliver high-quality work across our finance product ecosystem
  • Define problems, identify insights, and measure solutions through collaboration with User Research and Product Analytics teams
  • Contribute to OKRs, team and product strategy, vision, and roadmap
  • Be a thought leader as a senior member of the design organization, providing feedback, direction, and support
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to more junior members of the team
Who We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of experience designing articulable, elegant solutions to complicated problems
  • Track record of driving 0 to 1 product initiatives, building consensus among stakeholders and managing ambiguity, complexity, and scope
  • Excellent cross-functional partner enthusiastic about forming relationships across orgs
  • Proficiency with Figma and prototyping everything from large flows to micro-interactions
  • Experience with UX methodologies and artifacts for intricate systems (e.g. service blueprints, user journeys, usability testing)
  • Ability to multitask across multiple workstreams
  • Effective at storytelling and tailoring presentations for different audiences
  • Systems thinker with experience operating within and contributing to a design system
  • Strong visual design expertise
  • Fintech or ecommerce experience a big plus

Cash Compensation Range: $185,500 - $299,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
