Job description

About Soda Health

Soda Health is a healthcare technology company focused on building solutions which eliminate health inequities and create a healthier America.  We provide a technology platform to administer benefits personalized to individual needs, delivered more cost-effectively.  Our expertise in healthcare, retail and consumer experience provides us with the foundation for creating easy-to-use solutions with an experience which moves beyond transactional relationships to sustained engagement and overall health improvement.  That is a win for everyone.

The Job at a Glance

Reporting to the Director, Merchants & Payments, you will own the success of our implementation processes with our integrated merchant partners. You will be the face of Soda Health for retailers and other merchant partners throughout their implementation journey, and you will have primary accountability for project execution. You will work closely with a variety of cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Business Development, and Account Management to ensure that these projects are delivered flawlessly, and you will ensure that downstream teams such as Member Experience and Customer Care are equipped for any impacts that our new integrated retail partnerships bring to their areas.

What You’ll Do

Working within an organization created at the intersection of financial technology, retail, and healthcare, no two days will look the same.  Typical responsibilities of the role include:

  • Own the day-to-day relationship between Soda Health and our external partners, ensuring they have what they need to complete our integrations on time and with exceptional quality. You should be able to hug the boundary between being a project manager and a solution architect.
  • Execute and own our existing playbook for retailer integrations. Some specific implementation tasks that you will own include (but are not limited to):
  • Explain our integration file spec and API documentation to merchants’ development teams and field their questions with minimal to no input from our Engineering or Product partners.
  • Drive onboarding for new assortment categorizations and/or update existing categorizations to ensure that new merchant item assortments are indexed appropriately.
  • Map merchant data into our internal systems, writing clear and concise user stories for import jobs (bonus points if you’re technical enough to write the job code yourself).
  • Relentlessly seek out and implement enhancements to our merchant implementation playbook and on-going assortment management so that we can complete implementations at scale with greater speed and higher quality.
  • Act as a key thought partner with Product and Engineering to ensure new roadmap items are scoped appropriately with buy-in from our retail partners so that we are set up for implementation and operational success when delivered.
  • Maintain crisp internal and external process documentation as well as hyper-organized client documentation.
  • Establish strong relationships with Engineering, Product, Business Development, Account Management, Member Experience, and other key business partners. Act as a liaison between these groups and ensure comprehensive and timely communication of projects to all relevant stakeholders.

About You

While every candidate brings a unique resume and prospective, an ideal candidate will include:

  • 5+ years of experience working in retail, fintech, or a related field. Experience managing direct data integrations involving APIs is critical, familiarity with merchant point-of-sale systems, assortment catalogs, and other payment acceptance technologies is a plus.
  • Relentless pursuit of process efficiency without sacrificing quality. In the past you have been able to nearly “automate yourself out of a job” with the processes you built.
  • Comfort with integrating large data sets into proprietary systems, experience with SQL or similar solutions is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against deadlines with different teams; you thrive in shifting between managing partner relationships, working through the latest integration issue, driving internal efficiency improvements, and supporting new roadmap features.
  • Demonstrated experience owning positive and productive relationships with external partners/vendors, preferably in the retail and/or fintech space.
  • Strong and concise communicator who can break down complex topics to drive decision making and stakeholder buy-in; you have demonstrated success creating a path to yes in the face of several headwinds.
  • Ability to balance a strong attention to detail with being able to think strategically.
  • Commitment to building a diverse culture that is highly collaborative, strives to set and achieve goals together, and embraces transparency, innovation, and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience preferred.
  • Occasional travel may be required from time to time as part of their roles, company events and for business needs.
