We are currently looking for a dynamic and skilled Regulatory and Healthcare Counsel to join our Legal Department. This role will focus on healthcare regulatory compliance and provide strategic legal guidance to drive our business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a robust understanding of healthcare law, particularly in regulatory compliance, credentialing, and reimbursement practices. Shift Structure 

  • Remote position, M-F 
  • Preferred hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. EST

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies to ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, including CMS, HIPAA, AKS, and Stark Law, as well as state and federal requirements.
  • Advise on regulatory requirements for Theoria Medical’s service lines, including post-acute care, telemedicine, and ACOs, to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory issues related to payor enrollment and credentialing processes, supporting the in-house credentialing team.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with healthcare facilities, providers, and vendors, with a focus on regulatory adherence.
  • Offer legal guidance on business initiatives, particularly around ACO growth, reimbursement, and billing practices.
  • Develop and deliver training for staff on regulatory compliance and legal best practices.
  • Operate independently to manage caseloads efficiently and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures that align with evolving industry standards.
  • Stay current on healthcare laws, regulations, and emerging legal trends to provide proactive legal counsel.
  • Assist senior leadership in understanding regulatory risks and opportunities to support strategic business objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare law, regulatory compliance, or healthcare transactions.
  • Expertise in healthcare regulatory frameworks (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, Stark Law).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
