About the Role:

We are Anchor Point Studios and we’re looking for a Gameplay Animator to help us build the future of mind-blowing video game entertainment for a new, innovative 3D action title.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with the Animation Lead, Gameplay Designers, Rigging Artists, Engineers, and the rest of the animation team to help establish and reinforce quality and style throughout the product.
  • Take animation of both enemy, creatures and player characters from the initial blocking through implementation to completion while striving to get the best gameplay feel.
  • Help influence the development of our animation workflows, tools, and pipelines.
  • Create stunning animations that are both fluid and responsive.
  • Implement, troubleshoot and debug animation systems.

What You’ll Bring

  • Positive, solution-orientated individual, with deep-rooted interest in video games, and game development.
  • Experienced in key frame and motion capture animation.
  • Technical understanding of animation tools, pipelines and technical systems.
  • Experience using Maya
  • Strong knowledge of the principles of animation and how to apply them to elevate gameplay.
  • Experience animating various character types, from bipedal humans to multi-limbed creatures.
  • The ability to balance creative goals with the requirements of production.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work closely with Artists, Designers and Programmers.

Nice to have:

  • Professional experience developing third person action games.
  • Previous experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Familiarity with blueprint and animation blueprints.
  • Practical knowledge of animation blend trees and state machines.
  • Experience with Motionbuilder is a plus
