Job description

Technical Designer - 14 openings
Manhattan, NY (onsite)
Project begins November 18 and will go thru January 17th (Will not work the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s)

Overview: Individual contributor responsible for managing the technical design process from development to final fit.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and evaluate garments to establish accurate fit specifications.
Ensure product development aligns with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications.
Develop and communicate technical specifications to vendors/factories for fit approvals and adjustments.
Collaborate with factories to maintain design integrity in prototypes, while ensuring quality and target price objectives.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or equivalent experience.

Top Skills Required:

6+ years in technical design with intimates/apparel.
Technical Fit Analysis: Proficient in evaluating garments and developing accurate fit specifications to ensure design integrity and quality.
Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of identifying issues in garment design and fit, adjusting specifications to align with quality, cost, and design objectives.
Flexibility and Composure: Able to adapt to changing requirements and maintain calm under pressure, especially during stressful situations or tight timelines.
Vendor Communication: Skilled in clearly communicating technical specifications and necessary adjustments to vendors and factories to maintain production quality.
Collaborative Support: Works effectively with Assistant or Associate Technical Designers and supports cross-functional teams throughout the design and production process.
