Summary of Job Duties:
This Family Enrichment Specialist (FES) combines social issues and regulatory management and will work closely with Early /Head Start Child Care Partners and families. FES, must deal with child abuse follow-up and interventions. Works with families with difficult circumstances by developing a family intervention plan and assisting them in developing or finding the resources to meet their needs. Plans parent involvement activities at their respective centers. Recruits, enrolls and registers children and families for the Early Head Start Partnership program. Finds supplement community resources for their families.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Development Education or related field plus one (1) year experience of case management working with families in an early childhood developmental environment


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Works with families of children enrolled in Head Start / Early Head, home visits, and family assessments. Works with families with difficult circumstances by developing a family intervention plan and assisting them in developing or finding the resources to meet their needs.
  • Plans parent involvement activities at their respective centers.
  • Handles child abuse reports for their perspective center and follow-up of interventions. Recruits, enrolls, and registers children and families for the Head Start / Early Head Start Program. Record keeping in all aspects of the position.
  • Works with site staff regarding maintaining a clean and safe environment. Assist with classroom supervision of children in the absence of the teaching staff and relieve staff for breaks and lunchtime. Children’s records must be completed and maintained promptly.
  • Works with the management team staff in assessing the needs of the community and to help develop partnerships with other agencies within the community to work with the children and families. Required to complete parent survey and required Home Visits. Monitoring and recording attendance. Other duties as assigned.
