The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class finance organization. Treasury Securitization Team

This role will be part of the Treasury Securitization team. As a manager you’ll have the opportunity to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your leadership and interpersonal skills. In this role you will need a balance of quantitative and soft skills. You’ll become primarily involved in capital markets Asset Backed Securities (ABS) deals, private bank-funded transactions, data analytics, cash flow modeling, accounting entries, as well as transaction servicing and surveillance. You’ll help manage an approximately thirty billion dollar securitization program, both strategically and operationally.  You responsibilities will include the following:

  • Communicating with and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Coordinating with various parts of the finance organization and business including audit, tax, FP&A, marketing, accounting, accounting policy, external reporting, bill-to-cash, legal, investor relations, as well as other groups within treasury including cash management, unsecured funding, insurance, and fixed income investor relations.

  • Managing internal and external parties in conjunction with securitization initiatives such as private funding transactions and public ABS deals.

  • Managing relationships with Verizon’s secured bank lending partners.

  • Generating ideas for the optimization of all ABS funding structures.

  • Cultivating relationships through direct communication with external parties which include rating agencies, bankers, accountants, and lawyers.

  • Interacting with ABS investors and addressing questions as they arise.

  • Ensuring proper remittance of collections on all outstanding securitizations in accordance with transaction documents.

  • Preparing and distributing monthly servicer reports.

  • Constructing cash flow forecasts, both monthly and annually.

  • Preparing marketing materials and presentations in conjunction with new ABS deals and investor roadshows.

  • Interpret and evaluate monthly portfolio performance and KPIs to inform decision making by executive leadership.

  • Design, develop and implement methods and strategies to continually improve processes.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training..

  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Investment banking, audit, FP&A or similar experience.

  • Financial forecasting or financial modeling experience.

  • Strong written and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively multi-task.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics or a professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA).

  • Experience leading large and complex team projects with minimal supervision.

  • Passion for weeding out inefficiencies in all aspects of one’s job.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a relentless drive for self-improvement.

  • A strong sense of accountability, and the ability to work independently, often times with little-to-no guidance.

  • A high degree of analytical capability with the demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets and articulate one’s findings.

  • Strong financial acumen with familiarity with financial statements (i.e. balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) and financial metrics, particularly those related to debt.

  • Effective communication skills and a comfort with (or a desire to gain comfort with) speaking to small (and sometimes large) audiences.

  • Technical knowledge and expertise within the technology or Telecom industry (e.g. network, IT, media, products).

  • A desire to develop as a treasury professional, as well as an interest in exploring future corporate finance mobility opportunities at Verizon.

  • The ability to work well with others, a positive mentality, and a love for coming to work every day to contribute toward the goal of improving the lives of those that Verizon serves.

  • Experience with Google Suite, including Google Slides and Google Sheets
