What you’ll be doing...
As a Senior Engineer, you will work on transforming our legacy billing application to a cloud based billing platform.
You will work on requirements, provide design and deliver solutions meeting the requirements with operational efficiencies to support Bill Formatting platform. You will work with Business and IT partners in identifying technical improvements and will take the initiative to propose possible technical solutions. You will design and document business and technical specifications for bill formatting interfaces for both upstream and downstream applications that include both batch and online interactions, online interfaces include critical functions like rendering PDF versions of the bills, New Bill Summary activities, etc.
This application serves the core functions for processing billed data, applying business logic, formatting, serving digital copy of letters and bills to digital channels, Print Finishing of letters and bills to be printed.
This applications interfaces with both customer facing and center facing functions like bill view, adjustments, etc. Billing Organization is in the process of migrating the legacy billing application to a cloud based billing platform.
Enabling platform migration to a public cloud AWS ensuring Verizon security standards.
Delivering new pricing structures and plans for Consumer and B2B customers.
Supporting growth of FIOS services and 5G.
Providing real-time bill generation.
Migrating billing platform from mainframe-based to open-systems based solution to reduce MIPS and computing cost.
Identifying gaps in the target billing solution features like support to IOT, 5G, and proposing a technical solution to integrate Verizon applications with vendor product.
Finalizing a formatting solution by working with any COTS billing system to integrate the new billed data feed to the homegrown Verizon standard formatting solution.
What we’re looking for...
You are self-driven with experience in design and implementation of complex and distributed systems, particularly in building high-performance backend and/or frontend frameworks. You have a passion for seeking engineering excellence and adopting new technologies. You are not afraid to drive for success by working with multi-functional teams.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with billing products like Arbor/ Netcracker/ AMDOCs or related billing systems.
Experience in any of these systems: Billing and Bill Formatting.
Experience Java, Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, and Spring Integration Frameworks.
Experience in messaging technologies, Active MQ,
Experience in Oracle Database, PostgreSQL and Cassandra No SQL database.
Experience in Linux, scripting languages Python
Experience in Cloud Native Applications – Public or Private Cloud deployment.
Experience with K2view products like ADI, Fabric Broadway.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree.
Experience in telecom OSS/BSS development and delivery. Third party experience in Cassandra, Apache Spark, Kafka.
Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
Experience with AWS or related cloud technologies.
Knowledge of multiple SDLC methodologies, standards, procedures and organization that contribute to the development and deployment of technology solutions.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $123,000.00 and $229,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
