Job description

Support the successful execution of the Capex strategy within the business alongside the Operation’s Director and a wide group of stakeholders, including assigned project managers.

Manage requests for quotations during the initiation project process and create comparative analysis to support supplier negotiations for the big CAPEX projects.

Coordinate between the factory and suppliers the required development and execution of project plans and related project budgets.

Oversee in the corporate plan list of projects in the Region and ensure they remain within budget.

Coordinate with the financial department the cash CAPEX to lead the correct evolution of the budget.

Role typically operates at regional/divisional level.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Group Reliability & Asset Management Program Delivery Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background defining process, investment analysis, and asset management.

Working aligned to the Group Engineering Roadmap, the purpose of this position is to increase the value that the Engineering Function can deliver for DS Smith via the Group Wide Maintenance, Reliability & Asset Management program. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and profitability of our assets through advanced modelling, proactive operation strategies, and effective risk management. Additionally, the role will provide essential support to project development analysis to ensure design standardisation across all our sites ensuing best practices and standards into the design and planning stages, thereby optimising project outcomes and ensuring consistency across our portfolio.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Critical to the role is to take the lead on the development of efficient Asset Management Strategies & Process to deliver maximum value for DS Smith
  • Manage the completion of maintenance maturity and value driver audits across the Group and set up concrete action plans to make a tangible impact
  • Core to being successful in this role will be the ability to influence technical & operational excellence leaders across the Paper and Packaging Divisions
  • Act as a champion on Reliability Maintenance, acting as Group expert able to train and coach divisional/regional reliability resources
  • Working with the Head of Group Engineering, establish and monitor the Group & local “Value Driven Maintenance” roadmap that forms the basis of the Maintenance transformation program
  • Coordinate activity on Long Term Asset Planning [LTAP] of equipment across the Group, developing appropriate policy, and standards to provide direction at Divisional/Regional levels for deployment.  Establish solid plans to either extend the lifetime or to adequately and timely replace equipment thus providing input into the Capex plan
  • Act as a member of the Group Capex & Engineering team, to provide input to the development, and delivery of DS Smith’s strategy and goals, promoting cross-functional work and Operational Excellence

About you:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in technical asset management
  • Advanced data analytics skills essential for optimising performance and profitability
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex datasets is required to conduct performance analyses and forecasts accurately.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
