Job description

The Road Scholar Video Production team is seeking a Video Production Intern to join us for spring 2025. This video production internship is remote, 20 hours/week with a flexible schedule, Monday-Friday.

What is the Internship?

As a video production intern, you'll learn how to enhance your editing and communication skills by creating engaging videos that convey a brand story to targeted audiences. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the post-production process through a variety of projects within the marketing and communications department, building cross-departmental collaboration experience. You’ll also enhance your storytelling skills by working on videos that highlight personal experiences across both marketing and social media platforms. Additionally, you’ll strengthen your asset management skills by working with metadata to efficiently organize and retrieve photo and video content.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate across departments with pre and post-production tasks
  • Edit videos for marketing and social media use across various platforms
  • Add captions, titles, branding, and graphics to videos
  • Assist with mixing audio, sourcing music and sound effects
  • Handle quick-turnaround edits and support larger projects
  • Manage media asset organization, ensuring accurate tagging and metadata

What is needed?

  • Junior or Senior at an accredited college or university
  • Ability to work remotely for 20 hours per week, from January-May 2025
  • Required: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop
  • Preferred: Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve
  • Majoring in media arts, video production, or a related field
  • Passion for video storytelling and creativity in editing
  • Understanding of basic video and audio editing techniques 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment

  • Develop storytelling techniques through video editing to effectively represent a brand and its audience
  • Strengthen your skills in creating title graphics
  • Refine asset management skills by organizing video and photo content using metadata

What are the internship details? 

This internship runs 16 consecutive weeks during the summer between January 2025 and May 2025, subject to the student’s schedule. The internship is remote, 20 hours/week with flexible weekly schedule during business hours. A flat stipend of $3,840.00 is paid for this internship. The stipend is paid at 50% halfway through the internship and the other 50% after successful completion of the internship. College credit where applicable.
