Enterprise Data Modeler

The Opportunity:

To achieve an organization’s mission, leaders need strong team members who can process data models, develop best practices and tools for data design, and have expertise in the areas of biomedical data. Whether developing new databases or data models, our clients need a consultant who can help manage data architecture. That is why we need an experienced Enterprise Data Modeler like you who can provide high-quality support.

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical consultant to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. You’ll leverage your technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior ARPA-H decision makers. You’ll maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating commercialization of successfully developed technologies. 

You'll serve as an Enterprise Data Modeler helping clients to develop solutions, including biomedical data models to help clients achieve their goals. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Analyze ARPA-H business processes and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

  • Align data models with science-focused data models and ontologies such as biomedical.

  • Develop specific data ontologies for specific domains such as genomics or imaging.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience with enterprise data modeling, creation of Entity Relationship (ER) diagrams, and conceptual, logical, and physical relational and no-SQL data models

  • Experience working with common biomedical data models such as OMOP and vocabularies such as UMLS or SNOMED-CT

  • Experience interacting and communicating with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced, start-up environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Master’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with semantic web technologies such as RDF or JSON-LD

  • Experience with Unified Modeling Language

  • Experience with U.S. government health organizations

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and adhere diligently to deadlines and deliverables

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
