The Marketing team at BlackRock is a dynamic, global function that plays a critical role in helping drive many of the firm’s most urgent cross-functional initiatives. Together with our partners (both internal and external), we create the conditions that maximize business outcomes for the firm.
We specialize in a diverse range of functions to provide robust campaigns, advertising, communications, training, investment & educational material, and events, all supported by global centers of excellence spanning content strategy, research & analytics, and digital platforms & experiences.
Generating alpha is core to the foundation and heart of BlackRock. Alpha Marketing leads marketing for BlackRock’s platforms across active EQ, active FI, multi-asset strategies, private markets and hedge funds. Our mission is to help BlackRock’s partners and clients to achieve the alpha so critical to their investment needs and objectives. We are responsible for building BlackRock’s active and private markets brands and marketing our full range of investment vehicles across client segments globally.
Role and Impact:
BlackRock manages over $300b across infrastructure, private equity, real estate, debt, multi-alternatives and hedge funds. Growing BlackRock’s brand as a leading manager across these spaces is critical to the firm’s corporate strategy, business objectives and mission to serve our clients across the whole portfolio. Our Global Head of Alternative Marketing will supercharge our identity and value proposition; oversee digital, events and content; and drive our go-to market approach for priority fundraises. As a member of the Alpha Marketing leadership team, the successful candidate will help foster a culture of inclusion and collaboration, where diverse perspectives are valued and celebrated.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and articulate a bold, inspiring and measurable brand strategy
- Partner with the heads of our investment businesses on how we communicate and commercialize each of our private markets, multi-alternatives and hedge fund capabilities
- Work with distribution partners across BlackRock to supercharge fundraising with both institutional and wealth investors
- Lead, enable and inspire a diverse, hard-working team
- Serve as a key member of Alpha Marketing’s leadership team
You have…
- 15+ years’ experience in private markets (“alternatives”) marketing
- Demonstrated success at a leading, global investment manager
- Deep knowledge of investment strategies and clients
- Expertise in integrated marketing tactics (web, social, etc.)
- A desire to win hearts and minds in helping clients generate alpha
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
