Mutual of Enumclaw works exclusively with local independent agents to offer insurance products for individuals, families, farms, and businesses. We currently operate in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana and Wyoming.
The Claims Adjuster-Total Loss reports to a Material Damage Claims Supervisor and will be responsible for providing world-class service to our customers at every available opportunity during the investigation and resolution of low-complexity property and/or casualty claims. This claims adjuster role will investigate, evaluate and negotiate the settlement of vehicles determined to be a total loss. The adjuster will utilize approved methods to determine the value of the vehicle in accordance with the terms of the policy and applicable regulations. In addition, the adjuster will work with the appropriate service providers to facilitate the collection and transfer of the vehicle title and disposition of vehicle salvage.
Location: The successful candidate will work remotely, but must be located in one of our 7 states of business (WA, WY, UT, MT, OR, ID, or AZ), be available to work during our core Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours, and must have high-speed internet (internet speed test required).
Hiring Range: $61,586 - $69,910
Salary Range: $61,586 - $78,878

Responsibilities:
- Provide Ethical, Responsive, Personal, and Efficient claim service while resolving low-complexity, property, and/or casualty claims.
- Demonstrate superior communication skills through attentive verbal conversations and quality written correspondence.
- Build rapport with policyholders, customers, agents, carriers, attorneys, and vendors to facilitate prompt and accurate claim resolution.
- Investigate loss facts promptly, including gathering photographic and physical evidence, to make accurate and timely claim decisions.
- Interpret and apply coverage on multiple insurance policy types, appropriately using regulatory and compliance knowledge in claim decisions.
- Establish indemnity and expense reserves for payment, evaluating and executing release forms when necessary.
- Write and/or review vehicle and/or property damage estimates applying appropriate estimating guidelines.
- Negotiate directly with body shops, claimants, and insurance carriers.
- Manage rental, vendor, and other claim expenses.
- Recognize fraud potential and prepare claims for subrogation referral/recovery.
- Identify and monitor First Party Medical and Injury exposures.
- Effectively manage fluctuating workload while focusing on claims quality and customer experience.
- Performs most duties by telephone in an office setting.
- May require on-call status or after-hours support.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of claims adjusting experience preferred.
- Commercial and/or auto estimating experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree plus equivalent business/industry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and claims-related software programs.
- Insurance industry designation(s)/certification(s) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
