Position Overview

The Director of Power Substation Construction will oversee all aspects of the construction of electrical substations, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory standards. This leadership role involves managing construction teams, coordinating activities from initial site preparation to final commissioning, and ensuring the successful delivery of substation projects.

 

Requirements

Responsabilities:

  • Direct and manage the construction team for substation projects, establishing clear goals and ensuring that construction activities align with project specifications and timelines.
  • Provide guidance and oversight throughout the construction process, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Develop detailed construction plans, schedules, and resource allocations for substation projects, coordinating with engineering teams to ensure all technical and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction operations, managing site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Ensure that all construction activities are performed in accordance with engineering designs, industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control assessments to verify that construction work meets design specifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the permitting process for substation construction, coordinating with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate construction-related risks, prioritizing safety and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and training for on-site teams.
  • Foster a culture of safety on-site, monitoring compliance and addressing any safety concerns promptly to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in substation construction or engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing the construction of electrical substations.
  • Strong understanding of substation construction methods, high-voltage equipment installation, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of managing complex construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.
