Position Overview

The Director of Power Distribution Construction will oversee all aspects of the construction of power distribution infrastructure, including power lines, substations, and foundations. This leader will ensure that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory standards. With expertise in both engineering and construction, the Director will guide teams through the entire construction process, from planning and site preparation to final inspections and handovers.

 

Requirements

Responsabilities:

  • Lead and manage the construction team for power distribution projects, including power line installation and foundation construction, ensuring projects meet quality and safety standards.
  • Provide clear guidance and oversight to ensure that construction activities align with engineering plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Oversee project planning, site preparation, and resource allocation, coordinating closely with engineering teams to ensure all technical and regulatory requirements are integrated into the construction process.
  • Direct the day-to-day construction operations, supervising site teams, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain progress and address issues as they arise.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of power distribution construction methods, standards, and safety protocols, ensuring all projects are built to specification.
  • Guide teams in all stages of the construction process, from foundational works to line installation, ensuring adherence to engineering designs and compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate construction-related risks, prioritizing safety and enforcing all safety policies, procedures, and training for on-site teams.
  • Foster a strong safety culture on-site, monitoring compliance and addressing any safety concerns promptly to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in power distribution construction or engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing complex power infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of power distribution construction, including power line installation, foundation building, and the full project lifecycle from an engineering perspective.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects in the power sector, with strong budgeting, scheduling, and team management skills.
