Description
EnviroScience is looking to hire a full time, Wetland Delineator and Permitting Specialist to support our Florida Natural Resources Division. This position will best fit someone who can work independently and successfully manage multiple tasks, exhibits scientific writing skills, and has experience and a background in wetland science, botany, soils, and hydrology.
Responsibilities include:
• Consulting with clients regarding ecological considerations for site development including wetland and stream permitting options and threatened & endangered (T&E) species
• Conducting wetland assessments/delineations, stream assessments, and wetland functional assessments in Florida
• Conducting rare/threatened/endangered species habitat surveys in Florida
• Permitting for wetland and stream impacts through the 404 (USACE) Permit program and associated state (FDEP and WMD) permitting programs
• Advising clients on impact assessments and mitigation requirements using the Florida Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method
• Identifying any other necessary permits or agency coordination a project may need
• Developing and submitting project reports to various agencies and entities
• Conducting work year-round in adverse weather and rough terrain
• Independently preparing technical reports and permit documents, and maintaining excellent communication with project managers, clients, employees, and subcontractors
• Ability to support client and agency permitting needs during all project processes
• Other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications

Other qualifications include:
• B.S./B.A. degree in natural science field of study
• 3+ years wetland delineation field experience and ability to delineate wetlands independently
• 2+ years experience in project management and/or permitting in Florida
• Preparing and submitting permit applications through federal and state agencies including USACE, FDEP, WMDs, SHPO, DNR, and USFWS.
• Ability to read and interpret resource mapping
• Experience with local and regional flora identification
• Experience with Florida ecosystems, habitats, and wildlife
• Ability to key out and identify plants using plant identification manuals
• Experience with soil classification
• Experience with Global Position Systems (GPS)
• Well versed in state and federal regulations, the 1987 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Manual, and current Regional Supplements
• Experience with technical report writing
• Ability to travel overnight
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
