ABOUT PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS: 

Precision Diagnostics, based in San Diego, California is a fast-growing clinical laboratory that specializes in providing quantitative drug testing, primarily for the purpose of helping physicians monitor their patients’ undergoing treatment for pain or substance abuse. Precision’s objective is to improve patient adherence/compliance with their prescription regimen and protect medical practices from liability.   

 

THE ROLE: 

The AR Phone Representative is responsible for all incoming calls that come in through the Precision billing queue. Greets all customer calls in a friendly and professional manner. Responds to all inquiries within a timely manner. Processes patient credit card payments and applies the payment within the billing system. Responsible for verifying and updating patient insurance information accordingly. Handles all voicemails. Always maintains communication and confidentiality. Assist with all other tasks as needed.

  • Maintains and protects confidential information.  

  • Supports continuous improvement of organization processes and personal knowledge and skills.  

  • Identifies problem accounts and investigates and corrects errors, follows-up on missing account information.  

  • Handles all incoming patient voicemails. 

  • Responsible for a variety of billing and follow-up tasks relating to claims processing. 

  • Ensures that patient demographics, insurance information, verification and eligibility have been established and documented. 

  • Provides customers services to the clients and health plans for correct claim submission. 

  • Submits claims if needed once patient provides new Insurance information. 

  • Resolve errors by updating applicable patient demographic information, adding appropriate billing information as required or other appropriate actions.  

  • Shares patient/client complaint data with management for educational purposes.  

  • Audit and communicate patient accounts to ensure patient has a clear understanding of the information provided on their patient statements. 

  • Contact clients or use appropriate software as needed to ensure patient information is up to date. 

  • Applies undistributed amounts to patients accounts daily. 

  • Assist patient in filling out Hardship/Charity application over the phone or mails out the forms when the patient needs financial assistance.  

  • Communicates with client services to verify patient data information and makes corrections as needed. 

  • Documents and transfers escalated calls to supervisor to handle.  

  • Submits statement receipts to the patient when requested  

  • All other duties as required 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: 

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.  

  • Strong working knowledge of managed care plans, insurance carriers, government payers and payer requirements. 

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medicare Compliance. Familiarity with HIPAA privacy requirements for patient information. 

  • Basic understanding of DRG's, Medical ICD9/ICD10 codes and CPT/HCPC Codes. 

  • Ability to multitask and stay organized. 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize work. 

  • Requires a moderate level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytic skills. 

  • Knowledgeable on insurance and reimbursement process. 

  • Ability to establish/maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, sales team and providers. 

  • Two years of patient account experience in a healthcare setting. 

  • Laboratory experience preferred.

  • Become fluent in Microsoft 365 (formerly Office635) applications assigned to your role. Common applications include Teams, Word, Excel, Tasks and Planner 

  • Complete training in a timely manner that is assigned to you. Training is primarily conducted via Microsoft Learn modules and is assigned based on: 

  • Position/Job Role – Most positions require a core set of Microsoft 365 working knowledge 

  • Project Role – As member of a project team, you may be required to complete training before you can engage with the project team or commence project work 

  • Ad-Hoc – Based on review of your performance via support requests, training modules will be assigned to increase skills 

 

ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS 

  • This position is fully remote and Full-Time 

  • Salary is $23 - $25 per hour 

  • The hours would be 7:30AM - 4:00PM PST, hours may vary as needed 

  • Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and working on a computer.
